Abstract

Objective: The research aims to measure and analyze the reality of the application of the standards of the accreditation of the International Joint Commission (JCI) for the quality of health services (2021) at the Ibn Al-Bitar Specialized Center in Cardiac Surgery in Baghdad, in addition to providing an appropriate mechanism that clarifies the stages of application of the standards and proposes measures to help the center to fill the gaps.

Methodology: The research starts from the problem of challenges and difficulties in the level of performance of health services provided and in the provision of medical error-free and high quality health care.

In order to reach the scientific facts, we adopted the case study approach which includes life in the field and face-to-face interviews, and we used the checklist to collect data based on the survey guide. Joint Commission (JCI) International Accreditation Standards, Seventh Edition (2021).
