Abstract
The objective of the research is to know the role played by the Public Relations Department in the Department of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in Anbar in reducing the phenomenon of drug and psychotropic substance abuse, from the point of view of workers in the Department of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Affairs in Anbar Governorate, as sound leadership practices are the engine and motivation for building and advancing organizations and societies, for their effective role in combating negative phenomena, including the phenomenon of drug abuse, by promoting ethical behavior in society and the work system in which it operates. From here, the importance of the current research emerged, as it relied on the descriptive analytical approach based on the questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of (80) members (officers and police personnel). The sample after retrieving the questionnaire was a random relative size of (66) observations. The statistical analysis of the questionnaire data was based on the program (SPSS V24), and the arithmetic mean and standard deviation were used in addition to statistical tests to reach a set of results, conclusions and recommendations. The most prominent conclusion was the existence of a significant relationship between the practices of public relations management and reducing drug abuse, as well as setting A set of recommendations that can help decision-makers develop a strategy to eliminate this phenomenon.
