The Role of Ethics in Combating Drug Abuse: An Analytical Study in the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances of the National Security Agency
Abstract
The research aims to clarify the most important preventive methods for treating the phenomenon of drug abuse, as well as determining the value of ethics in preventing the phenomenon of drugs, as ethics are generally based on the values and moral standards that members of society rely on for the purpose of distinguishing between what is right and what is wrong. The research problem represented the phenomenon of drug abuse, which is considered one of the global issues that most societies and countries suffer from, especially in the Iraqi environment among the youth group, which is considered the pillar of human strength for any society, which highlights the extent of the spread of this phenomenon and its danger, especially for the youth group that is concerned with development and the advancement of their societies, as drugs are currently considered a fatal disease and a destructive danger facing the entire world. The descriptive analytical method was also used in the research, as it is considered one of the most important methods used, as it is based on analyzing all phenomena and describing them accurately. The research sample represented a group of employees working in the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the National Security Service, and a random sample of 70 employees was selected, as the tools of statistical analysis were relied upon, Pearson's coefficient and the simple linear regression equation, and the use of the SPSS v25 program to show the research variables. The research has reached several results, the most important of which is that ethics must be embodied in daily practices, whether at work or in personal life, to ensure that values are applied in reality. And social impacts: Ethical standards can affect the behaviors of individuals and societies, so it is necessary to promote positive ethical values in society.
